Important Updates from the Family Blog

Dear NV Prep Families:

Some you may have seen that our website looks a bit different. The good news is we are launching a new-and-improved school website. We just didn’t expect the rollover to happen right now, so we are still fixing some links and updating content.

In addition to looking nicer, the new website is easier to navigate, and includes a more useful family news blog.

Our homepage is still at nvprep.org, and we will send you another update when the website is fully updated. We will also send a more detailed update about how you can subscribe to updates and get the most out of the new website.

For any website-specific questions or suggestions, please contact Ms. Jeffries ([email protected]).

For all days off and school events you can see details at new nvprep.org/calendar page. Remember, November is a short school month, because scholars have the full week of Thanksgiving off for fall break. This is different from CCSD’s fall break schedule.

For now, we want to send a few items that haven’t yet moved over from old family blog:

  • Spirit Week. Scholars brought home a flier about spirit week. If you haven’t seen it, it may be in your child’s backpack. The remaining spirit week days are:
    • Wednesday, November 2. TWIN DAY. Scholars can dress up to match a friend.
    • Thursday, November 3. FALL COLORS DAY. Scholars can dress in any fall colored clothes.
  • Day of the Dead Movie Night. After dismissal tonight, there is a movie double feature. A copy of the flier is also attached to this post.
    • Book of Life will pay from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
    • Coco will pay from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
  • November 12, 2022 from 11am - 3am. FALL FAMILY FUN FIELD DAY! NVPrep students play for free! Come join them for all of the fun and bring your family, too. Visit www.popuppartyvegas.com for more information and tickets! (Sell 10 tickets and win 100 bucks!)
  • Enrolling New Students for this Year or Next. Enrollment for next year will launch on August 15, so you will see a new application posted then. Current year enrollment is still available on the new website.
  • Vision, Hearing, and Scoliosis Screening. In most local schools these screenings are provided in 4th or 7th grade. Because so many scholars missed screenings over the past few years due to Covid school closures, we are providing free vision and hearing screening for all scholars and Scoliosis screening for all 7th and 8th grade scholars. These screenings will be conducted by a licensed health professional, contracted by NV Prep. More details are available in the attached form. A copy of the form will also be sent home with scholars this week. If you would like to opt out of screening for your child, please complete the form. Please contact Ms. Tanaka ([email protected]) with any questions.

Thank you!
